NJ/NY AIDS Education and Training Center (NJ/NY AETC) As part of a national network of 11 regional centers (and more than 130 associated sites) the NY/NJ AETC conducts targeted, multi-disciplinary education and training programs for healthcare providers treating persons living with HIV/AIDS.
Health Watch Information and Promotion Service, Inc. , is a national, non-profit organization founded in 1984 to improve the health of minority populations and thus reduce their health care burden as well as that of society as a whole. We pursue our mission by partnering with the public and private sectors to develop and distribute culturally relevant information, strategies and programs for disease prevention, early detection and management, and to advocate for quality health care for people of color.
The AIDS Education Global information System (AEGiS.org) is a nonprofit organization that was established in 1990 in response to the growing HIV/AIDS pandemic. Our mission is twofold:
- Facilitate access to current patient/clinician information, specific to HIV/AIDS via state-of-the-art technology.
- Preserve for future generations a global history of the pandemic with our historical news and treatment database.
The HIV/AIDS Bureau (HAB) of the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) was formed in August 1997 to consolidate all programs funded under the Ryan White Comprehensive AIDS Resources Emergency (CARE) Act. The CARE Act was signed into law on August 15, 1990 to improve the quality and availability of care for people with HIV/AIDS and their families. Amended and reauthorized in May 1996, and November 2000 the Act is named after the Indiana teenager, Ryan White, who became an active public educator on HIV/AIDS after he contracted the syndrome. He died the same year the legislation was passed. The Latino Commission on AIDS is a national and regional nonprofit membership organization dedicated to improving and expanding health promotion, research, treatment and other services to the Latino community through organizing, education, model program development, capacity building and training.
The Kaiser Network provides daily HIV/AIDS reports from the Kaiser Family Foundation,
a non-profit, private operating foundation focusing on the major health care issues facing the nation. The Foundation is an independent voice and source of facts and analysis for policymakers, the media, the health care community, and the general public. |
