What is the training schedule?
This training will run from June 2nd- 19th, 2008. The sessions are held Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 9:30am - 4:00pm.
Who will provide the training? Experienced facilitators will lead each session. Co-facilitators for training sessions will include medical doctors, experienced peer workers, social service agency staff, and Columbia University staff. What will peer workers gain from the training? Participants will have an opportunity to increase their knowledge of HIV/AIDS issues, skills to help people take medications correctly, improved communication and counseling skills and an enhanced ability to work as part of a team Who is eligible to participate in PACT CORE training? Peer workers who work with an agency or program that serves people with HIV/AIDS or peers that have at least 6 months experience working as a peer (even if they are not currently working). How do you apply and how much does it cost?
